The Escort Carrier provided even more space for hundreds more troops and a few more shuttles, but it's chief contribution was a Tie Wing as large and as powerful as that carried aboard the Edgecrusher. Plus it carried a healthy complement of troops and ground vehicles and the shuttles and transports needed to drop them to the surface. In some situations it was even better than the Edgecrusher at this because missiles could bypass a lot of ray shielding. The Victory I with its massive complement of concussion missiles was an excellent fire support platform. This attack line's composition was a strange mix with an unconventional focus. But their job was to get into the flight path of any starfighter attacks on the other capital ships and gun them down with the firepower of their many laser cannons. The Lancer-class Frigates Swift Justice and Patron were in flanking positions to the left and right of the capital ships, like tiny shepherd's trying to move a herd along. The Victory I-class Star Destroyer Legionnaire was second in line, and the Escort-class Carrier Black Banner was third. The Dreadnaught-class Cruiser Aspiration was Line Captain Shanroth's flagship and it was up front. To Jace's eyes it was easy to see without technology that the three primary capital ships were flying in a line ahead formation. The Dreadnaught, Victory I, Escort Carrier and 2 Lancers could only muster a cruising speed of 4, and so the Edgecrusher slowed as it reached them. Formed up with the entire 144th Attack Line. The Edgecrusher had left all that behind.
That was a busy sector of space, with shuttles coming and going, in many cases moving some of the Unrivaled's wounded crew to the sick bays of other ships.
The 90th was focusing on securing the crew and gathering up all the useful intelligence it could.Īt the same time they were protecting the still-active Interdictor Cruiser, and supporting the crew of the Unrivaled in their repair efforts. But having charted her precise orbit, the Imperial ships were staying clear of it as she made a slow march around the planet's tilted equator. Out of the range of her guns, they watched the Arkanians sole remaining frigate and it's starfighters, eager to pounce if they decided to sortie away from the station.Īdasca Station itself was theoretically a threat. The 38th Pursuit Line swung into a patrol pattern around Adasca Station. The next three hours were a blur of activity for the 8th Battle Squadron.
